Egmont UK focuses purely on children’s publishing - books and magazines and is divided into three separate business units – Egmont Press (fi ction & picture books), Egmont Publishing (character books and learning) and Egmont Magazines.

Egmont Publishing, the UK’s No1 publisher of character books, is home to many of the most popular and well-loved literary characters – including the Mr Men, Winnie the Pooh, Tintin and Thomas the Tank Engine – as well as more contemporary stars like Postman Pat and Boo!

The Egmont Press award-winning fiction list includes authors such as Jamila Gavin, William Nicholson, Anne Fine, Jenny Nimmo and children’s laureate Michael Morpurgo. Egmont is also the UK publisher of A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket, which has sold over 3 million copies in the UK alone.

The Egmont Press picture book list includes stars such as Helen Oxenbury, Jan Fearnley, Nick Sharratt, Babette Cole and Colin & Jacqui Hawkins.

Egmont Magazines has a heritage of children’s comic and magazine publishing dating back to 1888. Our heritage includes titles and characters such as Comic Cuts, Illustrated Chips, The Wonder, The Marvel, Billy Bunter, The Eagle (Dan Dare), Buster, Roy of the Rovers, 2000AD, Judge Dredd and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.

Egmont Magazines sell 959,000* kids magazines per month and over 11.5m magazines a year. This represents a market value of £18m, and a total children’s market share of 21%*

Egmont Magazines is market leader in the girls sector with 39%* share. We also have a 23%* share in the pre-school sector.

We focus on premium magazine brands – Disney, Thomas, Mattel, Go Girl & Toxic – predominantly for newsstand sales. We also offer contract publishing – customers to date include British Airways, Eurostar, Brewsters and McDonalds.
